JIM BITOMSKY
Jim has over 25 years experience in industry development and representation. Over that period he served in various positions in the National organisation representing Australian manufacturing industry, with positions including national responsibility for development and presentation of industry submissions to various tribunals, part of multi-disciplinary teams developing budget strategy submissions to government, responsibility for training divisions, facilitation of settlement of industry disputes and provision of consultancy advice to the membership on a wide variety of matters.
More recently, as CEO of a regional economic development organisation, he applied this experience and base qualifications to grass roots economic development in a region under stress due to downturns in traditional agricultural industries. In the course of this experience he developed skills in regional economic development practice and a thorough understanding of contemporary academic theory and practice. He also developed expertise in diversifying regional economies through practical initiatives and projects.
He therefore has the benefit of national industry experience combined with on the ground grass roots regional economic development.
Since joining Kleinhardt in November 2000, he has undertaken a variety of consultancy assignments encompassing clients in three tiers of government, Indigenous organisations and private corporate clients. These encompass business planning, investment attraction, feasibility studies and economic development strategies and analyses.
