NGO Case Studies
- Kleinhardt led the development of DIVE Queensland's Strategic Plan which bought together a disparate membership to become recognised by the Government as a leading and credible advocate for industry interests.
- Kleinhardt facilitated and coordinated the marine park operators under one organisation - Australian Marine Park Tour Operators' Association (AMPTOA). This brought together disparate industry groups and overcame inefficiencies, internal politics to create a new efficient and effective advocacy group.
- Kleinhardt conducted investigations and recommendations of tourism industry development opportunities in Brunei. This resulted in the Brunei Tourism Development Division appointing Kleinhardt to identify and source potential developer investors and operators. This resulted in additional business opportunities for Australian operators.
- Kleinhardt developed a strategic plan on behalf of the Port Douglas Daintree Tourism Association which resulted in it reorganisation to a business model with robust linkages to local, regional and state organisations to enable beneficial leverage.
- Kleinhardt was instrumental in the design, development and ongoing management and operation of a national tourism industry credit bureau on behalf of the Inbound Tour Organisation of Australia (ITOA) . This was widely embraced by the tourism industry as a highly effective, reputable and efficient credit management tool.
Kleinhardt was engaged by the Queensland Department of State Development and the Cairns Regional Economic Development Corporation to formulate industry development plans for:

Kleinhardt, on behalf of the Investment Promotion Authority of Papua New Guinea, undertook the Integrated Investment Profiling Program (IIPP) to develop pre-feasibility studies, business and market plans for proposed enterprises including:

- Fishing and seafood processing
- Mining support facilities and services,

This attracted investment and employment opportunities and Kleinhardt negotiated successful outcomes with several investors.
- Kleinhardt facilitated the Department of State Development's monthly CEO Enterprise Development Groups. These groups, each comprising 15 CEOs from a diverse range of industry, provided a platform for discussion and resulted in the generation of common business, management and regional economic development interests.
- Kleinhardt was appointed by the management of an international and national mainport shipping company and its tugboat subsidiary to develop and implement a scheme of arrangement and organisation reconstruction. This resulted in the successful negotiation and undertaking of Lloyds Open Form Salvage contract for the 10,000 GRT container vessel MV Waigani Express.
- Kleinhardt conducted several successful investigations and negotiations of acquisitions of regional energy distributors on behalf of a corporatised State Government Authority. The due diligence, business plans and market scans provided the successful integration of these businesses.
- Kleinhardt sourced, negotiated and secured a US$55 million contract for the worst ever oil spill clean up and environmental remediation on the Volga River in Russia. This was funded by the World Bank. The role then became the project management of 850 personnel involved in the successful operation.
